Heritage Oaks raises over $32,000 for Wounded Warriors Family Support.
The Heritage Oaks community of 850 residences surrounding a beautiful 18 hole championship golf course in Sarasota, FL recently conducted its third annual charity golf tournament to benefit Wounded Warriors Family Support.
Since the beginning of the Tourney in 2014 the amount of money raised to benefit the WWFS has increased by over $2,000.00 each year.
This year’s event was staged on January 30th and featured an authentic bagpiper’s sendoff for the shotgun start. As the final notes of the Piper’s Gary Owen wafted over the assembled golfers the groups moved out to challenge the course.
Later activities helping fill the remainder of the day’s events included silent and live auctions and a sit–down dinner plus an address from Lt. Gen. (ret.) John Sylvester, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wounded Warriors Family Support.
The members of the WWFS Tournament committee are already at work reviewing the results of this year’s event and beginning planning for next year’s event.Share:
